Sonja Pauline Katz June 1, 1938 - September 3, 2019

A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, September 4, 2019 at 10:00 am at Beth Jacob Cemetery 2300 Almeda Genoa Rd. Houston, TX. 77047

Sonja Pauline Katz was born June 1, 1938, in Madison Wisconsin to Anna z”tl and Zachary z”tl Onikul. She was raised in Baraboo, Wisconsin, (which she would proudly tell you was home of the Ringling Brothers Circus) with her three sisters, Gertrude, Judy z”tl and Rachel z”l. She met the love of her life, Howard Katz z”tl in Milwaukee and they were married 46 years, and had two children, Freda Wadler and David Katz. In 1983, she and Howard moved from Milwaukee to Houston, Texas with their two children. Pauline was extremely outgoing and never met a stranger. Within minutes of meeting someone, she would know most of their life history. The number of people who would call her a friend is too numerous to count. She was known for her kind heart and her selflessness. She is survived by her sister, Gertrude Sadoff, her two children and their spouses, Freda and Michael Wadler, David and Cece Katz, and her granddaughters, the four gems in her life Ariel Wadler, Maya Wadler, Annika Katz and Madison Katz. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to United Orthodox Synagogues or the Robert M. Beren Academy.
