Sandra Sklar born October 5, 1945 passed away peacefully on February 27, 2015. She had a twin sister, Linda who passed away as a young child. Sandy was born with cerebral palsy and overcame great obstacles to become successful. She worked in Battlestein’s department store and for 25 years with US Passport Office of the Federal Government in Houston. Sandy loved life and was full of love and devotion mfor her friends and family. She is survived by her sister Judy Levin, her brother-in-law Jerry Salzman, her niece, Natalie, her nephew Benjamin, her uncle Hy Levin, her soul mate of 17 years, Fred Kogen, and their beloved dog Sammy. She was preceded in death by her mother, Lillian Levin and her father, Ben Levin. The family would like to thank her devoted friends, Walia Dungan, Shelley Wallock, Bonnie Cotlar, and Lesa Morren as well as many others. The family would also like to thank her devoted caregivers, Michelle Levy, Willie Stewart, her nurse Cheryl Bridgens, and Ruth Sherman from Jewish Family Service. Funeral services were held at Beth Yeshurun Post Oak Cemetery at 2:30 PM on Sunday March 1, 2015. Contributions may be sent to Congregation Beth Yeshurun or a charity of your choice.
