Patricia Broughan Cohen of Houston, Texas and formerly Wickliffe, Ohio passed on Sunday March 10, 2019 at Memorial Hermann Hospital TMC in Houston. Born August 25, 1948 she graduated Wickliffe High School in 1966 and attended Miami University of Ohio, graduating in 1970 with a Bachelors of Arts degree. She loved a life of medicine and caring for people, becoming a radiological technologist and pursuing a nursing degree. She married Alan M. Cohen, MD on July 19, 1980 and they spent 38 wonderful years together. She raised Jason E. Cohen and Brian W. Cohen as her sons and is the grandmother to Nathaniel J. Cohen, Ellis N.C. Doherty and Timothy P.H. Cohen as well as the mother-in-law to Leslie A. Cohen McGregor and Meghan C. Doherty. She is predeceased by her mother Marian Broughan and father Thomas A. Broughan. She is survived by her husband, children and grandchildren as well as her sister Judy Martinson, married to David Martinson, and brother Thomas Broughan, MD, married to Deborah Broughan as well as their children and grandchildren. She volunteered in Shaker Heights, OH to welcome new families to the community as part of the Welcome Wagon. In Houston, she volunteered at Memorial Hermann Hospital, becoming president of the volunteers and ascending to the Board of Director of Memorial Hermann Hospital System. Her passions ranged from horseback riding, which she enjoyed for 60 years and being a hockey-mom supporting both her sons, most notably recognized for her calls of “Take the Body.” She was a proud, strong, loving woman with impeccable taste and style.Please make any donations to Planned Parenthood in her memory.
