Martin Steiner August 15, 1941 - January 18, 2016

Dr. Martin Roth Steiner, 74, of Houston passed away suddenly on January 18, 2016 of an aortic dissection. Dr. Steiner grew up in Great Neck, NY where he met and married his grade-school sweetheart Barbara Bender. They were married 40 years until her passing in 2005. Dr. Steiner had the good fortune of finding love and happiness once again when he met and married his beloved Marilee. They enjoyed life to its fullest, enjoying world travel, scuba diving, snow-skiing, and boating up until the day he died.
Dr. Steiner was a dedicated neurologist who was well- respected by his patients and the medical community. His accolades include Past-Presi- dent of the Texas Neurological Society, Vice Chief of Staff
at Memorial Southwest Hospital, and Chief of Staff at Sharpstown General Hospital, in addition to serving as a
Major in the U.S. Air Force. He is survived by his wife Marilee, three daughters, Julie Gershon, Suzanne Sievert, and Michelle Holm, and eight grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 4 pm on Friday, January 22nd, Congregation Emanu El, 1500 Sunset Blvd. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) at www. jdrf.org.
