On May 30 at 6:18 PM our Father Joseph Levinton took his last breath and left his family on Earth to join our Mother Loretta in heaven, the love of his life!
Dad was born June 21, 1929, the fourth child of Sam and Mary.in Coney Island, NY. According to Dad he was a good boy who listened to his Mother and did everything he was told. He had so many experiences that he at 89 could tell you about anything in history. He was the smartest man we knew.
Joseph and Loretta gave life to 5 children…Sherri Ann, Ira Ray, Bradley Lawrence, Carol Lyn, and Richard Scott. This flock of kids led to 5 in-law children, 9 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren. Dad was kind of like the Mafia Boss and he expected his flock to follow his rule. But everyplace he went he made new friends and tried to help everyone. Sometimes he over did it, and those of you affected, you know what I mean!
Strong like Ox in body, mind and spirit, he amazed everyone that at 3 weeks shy of 90, he still drove, did his own grocery shopping, and was in charge of his own affairs. He was planning to go to NY to research his family history but just didn’t make it.
He leaves his sister Gert in Fl., his sister-in-law Marion in Brooklyn, NY and countless nieces, nephews and friends.
Joseph Levinton will be remembered by many as a Korean War Veteran, a great humanitarian, a strict but caring Father, Grand Father and Great Grand Father, and a faithful friend to others.
