Harry Jay Halpin, born October 27, 1924, died at his home on January 17, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bessie and Abe Halpin, brothers, Morris Halpin and Max Halpin, and sister, Flora Brandt.
Harry is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Marilyn, daughter and son-in-law, Gayle and Richard Rockoff, and son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Dee Dee Halpin. He also is survived by adored grandchildren, Rebecca Halpin, Brettne (and Andrew) Hemley, Jared (and Lindsey) Rockoff, Denise (and Jeff) Gold, and Matthew Halpin, and three great-grandchildren. He is survived by sister-in-law, Rosalie Halpin, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Harry was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, and was always known for his incredible memory and annual batches of “never-hot-enough” horseradish for the holidays. He was fond of his days at San Jacinto High School and his multitude of friends through the Gaylords. He cherished most of all the love of his life, Marilyn. He lived a very full life, doing things “his way”, until the very end.
