Erwin Azriel Ritter, 86, of Houston, TX passed away on February 28th, 2019. Erwin was born in Alba Yulia, Romania to Judithe and Yom Tom Chaim Ritter on February 13th, 1933. He loved to invent and create with whatever he could get his hands on.
He started as an engineer in the Isreali Air Force and played a major part in their defenses by using the non-functional airplanes as a slight of hand and making them look as if they were functional and combat ready. From there he took his knowledge and creativity to America where he started many businesses, his main one being a construction company known as Ritter Custom Homes.
Erwin was a strong man with a soft heart. He was compassionate and courageous and loved his family more than anything in the world. He was a survivor of the Holocaust and because of his braveness and quick thinking, he is now survived by his wife of 63 years, Monique Bina Ritter, his son Renato Ron Ritter and daughter-in-law PK Ritter of Las Vegas, NV and daughter Dorit Golan of Houston, TX.
He was a proud grandfather to six grandchildren; Ian Golan, Shawn Golan, Nicole Green, Elan Ritter, Lauren Ritter, and Evan Ritter and a great grandfather to Hudson Green. He was there through each of his grandchildren’s childhood and was able to share and create many great memories.
Erwin is now in the loving arms of his mother, Judithe, and father, Yom Tom Chaim, along with his three sisters, Bella, Malka, and Edith.
He is very grateful to Louis Cordona and his wife for the love and support they have given to him and Monique throughout all of these years.
The family would like to thank Maria, his caregiver, and all of the home healthcare nurses and all of the wonderful nurses from A-Med Hospice who cared for him.
We also would like to thank the Jewish Family Service for all of the care they gave to the family and Erwin during this time.
