Ella Gurevich was born in Gorky, Russia on December 19, 1948 and passed away on October 26, 2019 in Houston. She leaves her husband of 37 years Vladimir, her daughter Nina , her spouse Yevgeny and her two granddaughters Arina and Luba.
Her parents Olga and Boris preceded her in death back in Russia.
Ella was renowned hair stylist who participated in many All-Russian competitions and hair-styling shows. Ella moved to the United States with her husband Vladimir in 1996 and had to start all over again going back to professional school in order to obtain her license. She accomplished it in one year and her professional career took off rapidly. She became very well known in Houston for her highly professional services.
Ellа was a very creative and artistic person and she was not satisfied by doing only professional work. She started her own hair styling art shows which became very popular in Houston. She was at the center of Russian cultural life in Houston: highly esteemed and loved by all the people who became not just her clients, but her friends. She was not just a very well known hair stylist in town, but also a very sincere and warm-hearted person. She had this winning personality which attracted so many people to her. Ella loved arts and she and Vladimir were attending many cultural events in Houston: Houston Grand Opera, Houston Symphony, Museum of Fine Arts and others.
The news of her disease devastated family and all her friends. She was fighting cancer for several months.
Her husband, Vladimir, her daughter Nina and the entire family did everything possible to save her life. All the possible treatments were done.
Unfortunately, it was way too late in the course of this horrible disease to save Ella’s life.
She passed away on October 26 at 11:26 at The Concierge, Rehabilitating Center, surrounded by her family.
Her untimely death leaves a huge wound in our hearts.
She will be in our memories, thoughts and prayers as long as we live.
